Strattera and Birth Control: Anyone Else Experiencing This?

Have any fellow ADHD-ers been on Strattera/Atomoxetine? I’ve been on it for a couple weeks now. It definitely seems to be helping, but I think it might be interacting with my birth control and making my PCOS symptoms worse. I’ve been having some irregular bleeding. I’ve done some googling and while I dunno how accurate what I’ve read is it seems like it should be okay as long as this doesn’t persist more than a month. I’m still gonna talk to my doc about it of course. But if anyone else has been / is currently on this medication, what was your experience?

I've been researching effects of atomoxetine (just started it) and I do believe it said it can affect your period and give you heavier cramps. It's been a while since this was posted so not sure if you're still using it

I’ve been on stratera for two years and never found it messed with my period at all. But I’ve also never been on birth control. I do know some ‘brain meds’ can’t be taken at the same time as some birth controls though. Did you make sure whoever prescribed the stratera knew about the birth control?

I took it for like a month. It worked really well for me and made me feel really normal and like I could actually do my schoolwork! But the last week I had really low energy and got kinda depressed. I hadn’t experienced that before so when I had my appointment I told my doctor about it and I switched to Adderall.

Atomoxetine gave me sharp digestive pains every time I took it! I couldn't keep using it. I can understand how you might be experiencing similar irritative issues.

Hi, My girlfriend was on it for a while and had no issues, but maybe you should look into the type of birth control with your ob-gyn and make some adjustments.
