Looking for advice on stopping birth control

for the past 3 years i’ve been on a birth control called Loryna. in a few months when i see my obgyn, i want to be able to stop taking it. i really want to stop because i don’t want the chemicals in my body anymore but im scared at the same time. i’m scared because i don’t want side affects, more specifically weight gain and worse periods. before birth control my periods were very heavy that they made me anemic. from experience, does anyone have any suggestions of things to do once i stop taking it? maybe even things like vitamins or supplements to help the body adjust. please comment if youve gotten off of an oral birth control and how it was for you and what you’ve done, especially if you’ve been on Loryna

I too had bad side effects from BC and had heavy bleeding & cramping since puberty (nexplanon = bled for 4 years straight, nuvaring = the hormones gave me migraines with auras, depoprovera = migraines with aura but from the progesterone hormone this time.) My sensitivity to gynogen hormones wiped out 90% of BC medications & my heavy bleeding made me desperate to avoid periods all together. As far as supplements, I took a fenugreek blend called Alpha-King from GNC. I didn't notice any difference in bleeding but my energy was peak and I did notice less belly volume without changing my routine. (I think it's because I had more energy and that lead to more activity naturally.) In the end, I ended up going for sterilization via hysterectomy. (we still have periods with tubal ligation) The recovery was difficult but the pay off was magnificent. Good luck!
