There isn’t a good way to slow it down. I was born with scoliosis and tried back braces but even with back braces my got progressively till I was 7 ( I’m 21) I had a 67 degree curving which fell into the severe category other wise I would’ve died. Now I have to with an over correction of scoliosis when causes an extreme amount of pain but luckily I only my bace brace at night or when the pain is severe. I have a custom made back brace

I know I can’t stop it from progressing. I just want to slow it down. I’m getting surgery this summer.

So, keep wearing that brace. If it works, then I’m happy for you. Surgery is an option if a curve gets too severe and could possibly endanger the person’s life, so you can choose to get surgery if you wish. It can correct your spine permanently.

Wearing a back brace can help, in some cases, however. It could slow down the progression, but it only works for some people. Sometimes, it doesn’t work.

Well…I don’t know how to tell you this, but there isn’t any way to stop it from progressing. Your spine will stop if it wants to, or it will progress if it wants to. If it *does* stop, then good for you! But if it keeps progressing, there’s nothing you can do about it.
