The grounding method. Some people count for it, but I don’t because it makes me more anxious of whether I’m doing the method correctly or not. Look around you and name a few things in conjunction to each of your senses;name something you can touch, smell, things you see, etc. and if you find you’re at a loss for objects around you think of different activities you do with them. It distracts you and sets your train of thought somewhere else. It’s a simple life changer

try to switch trains of thought to something else like call a friend and check in on them, listen to music or watch a show. just try your best not to think about whatever intrusive thoughts appear - ignore them, not encourage
