How to Stop Dwelling on the Negative?

Does anyone have advice on not dwelling on the negative? One slightly negative thing happens at work and three great things happen but I can only think about the negative. If I try to focus on the positive it feels disingenuous. If I’m not focusing on the bad things it feels like I’m lying. Like if I’m not feeling bad enough I have to punish myself over and over again.

It's too easy to look at the negatives. Acknowledge them, but give yourself a break. We gotta pat our own backs sometimes and celebrate even the smallest successes. You'll just bring yourself down if you focus on only the negatives. If it's something you can work on then improve.
