Stomachaches and Nausea After Eating: Is it Common?

Is it common to get stomachaches or nausea after eating? Mine usually happens at night after dinner and it feels like I have built up gas but nothing comes out. It started happening very suddenly too. POTS is a new diagnosis and a new thing to me and I don't know much about it so I was wondering if this is common or not.

I do have hEDS and fibromyalgia as well, but I will write all of my symptoms down when I can and communicate any other potential comorbidities with my doctor. Thank you both!

Ive got POTS and gastroparesis (both come from hEDS) and built up gas and nausea is a chronic thing but worsens with certain foods and when I lie down. POTS can mess with your stomach quite a bit but if youre having an issue its worth looking into potential comorbidities as I see you have EDS. Could be GP or MCAS like hippo5 said. Something that helps my symptoms is soda. Its bubbly and helps you burp it out and some sodas can help nausea. Unless its painful to the touch and super bloated rubbing your stomach in a circle motion can also help bring up the air but it can bring more nausea if the air doesnt come out so be warned. I hope your symptoms calm down i know it sucks!

Stomach problems can definitely happen with POTS. I found this happening to me so I ended up getting allergy tested and they finally determined that I have MCAS. POTS and MCAS can often be found together so keep an eye on your symptoms and communicate them to your doc! I started writing everything down (what I ate, when I would have flares, etc) and I found it very helpful. I hope this helps and I sure hope you start feeling better! ♡
