Why I Won't Seek a Diagnosis for My Stigmatized Disorders

I don’t think I'll ever seek out a diagnosis for my more stigmatized disorders (psychotic, unstable, and paraphilic disorders) It seems diagnosis and records do more to limit your human rights than anything else. For now, what's helped me best, is community, mutual aid, and alternative medicine. And I hope there are others than can relate.

I have a diagnosis for my SZA, but what has helped me most is community, mutual aid and art (Along with some of my meds, and cannabis). So I can definitely relate to some aspects of what you're talking about though! I'm (usually) somewhat open about my experiences though, when it feels safe to be.
