trigger warning/DV I'm really distraught right now. I just found out my stepbrother (who my mother has a harrasment order against for threatening our lives, destruction of our property, intimidation etc) is moving back in on the first floor with the landlord who is his father and also my stepdad. its a mess. we live on the second floor. he has explosive anger problems and blames EVERYTHING on us. he moved out about 6 months ago, but isn't getting along with his girlfriend so he is moving back in. the order we have only says for him to stay 5 yards from our apartment. the entire neighborhood is sick of him because he literally harassed everyone with violence and disruption. I feel so scared. we ask my stepfather to step in sometimes, but his son beats him up and he then is too afraid to help us. I don't know what my next step is.

@proudcloud of course I know the system sometimes fails, but it doesn't hurt to try. And they legally have to keep records. Ask them to file it as a police report. And he may need a biological family member to 5150 him. Keep that in mind. I know it's scary but trust me you can do this. Stay strong and stay safe don't open the door for him and if you see him walk the other way and ignore.

File a police report. Fill the police in on everything and why you are scared. You deserve to be able to live without fear.

File a report with the police anytime something happens even minor. Non emergency line keeps records. Also he seems to be a danger to others and himself, find a way to 5150 him maybe.

@PrettyBoyBlue yeah we have been doing that, the other day he threatened us because now he can't find a job and said he's going to kill us if we don't drop the order. as if!!! I didn't know the non emergency line keeps records. That's amazing to know. I will definitely look into sectioning him somehow. Thank you so much for your response- means a lot! šŸ™
