How to Stay Grounded When You're Feeling Overwhelmed

How do you face the things you don't want to do but need to do? I've been distracting myself with other things for too long to avoid doing what I really need to do to push my life forward. I know it's entirely wrong, and I feel like I'm in a downward spiral. I guess I'm wondering how everyone stays grounded to be able to handle stress.

Honestly, I asked my psychiatrist for modafinil and it’s been a life saver to helping me take steps to better my life situation. It doesn’t necessarily treat my trauma, but it lets me focus on my interests without falling back into negative depressive thoughts or being disturbed and distracted by incessant emotional pain

It's always starting to get the ball rolling that is the hardest part. Usually I take my end goal and divide it into smaller steps so that way it is easier to look at and you can start small. When you get moving it seems like everything gets easier I find
