do you think that starting testosterone will mess with my mental health treatment?

it totally could! it ranges from person to person but it's highly suggested that you get in a good place mentally and see someone regularly for mental health. for me it really upped my anger issues and self image issues as well, I had to vist the psych ward not too soon after getting my prescription actually. still it's different for everyone but if you already struggle with your mental health I'd highly recommend seeing someone regularly at least.

It could make it better if it eases gender dysphoria. Could make it worse if you deal with negative side effects.

Yes wanted to add onto the last comment! It changed my life for the better, im not on antidepressants anymore, not suicidal anymore, and after surgery the depression feels so distant, where it was once so central in my life. Going through the hormonal changes is tough no matter who you are. Puberty is hell for anyone but its so much better than going through the wrong one.

It likely depends on the person. I'm not trans, but my best friend is, and starting testosterone has DRAMATICALLY improved his mental health. Fighting for his mental health before T was a losing battle. He's so much happier, healthier, and more stable now.

Somewhat, it’s basically going through puberty again. Theres gonna be a lot of strong emotions for a while, a lot of anger. Its something that goes away as your hormones stabilize again, but its something you have to be mentally prepared for
