My PCP. She believed me first and that helped me help and advocate for myself. I got a new/better rheumatologist who prescribed me the appropriate meds but I will discuss all my meds and condition with my PCP since she usually has great advice or recommendations. Most of all, I feel like she HEARS me.

My PCP hears me but doesn't know how to help me. You see, I have an unusual problem. I do have fibromyalgia along with osteoarthritis, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome and periodontitis. My main problem is that I am highly sensitive to electricity and the electromagnetic force. Everything electric that has a motor from something as small as a hair dryer to something as large as a train motor causes worse pain.

Honestly, it's been very much a team effort with an entire support network. And, I would actually say my naturopath has been the most effective practically; my therapist has been the most supportive and validating of my emotions and experience.

I’d say my PCP or the Psych NP I saw last time I was in the psych ward. My PCP listens to me better than most of my specialists and the psych NP put on a new medicine and it’s the happiest I’ve been in years ( and I’m talking genuine happiness not mania)

if I may ask what medication do you take? I’m on Lexipro and even after they increased my dose my mania is terrible.

My PCP originally was treating but finally referred me to a pain management doctor who had been studying fibromyalgia and attending medical conferences and decided to open his own fibromyalgia clinic. Some of it unfortunately still falls back on pain pills but he has also identified other things like vitamin deficiencies and food intolerances that can also lead to increased pain and inflammation. Knowing these things hasn't "cured" me by any means but it has definitely helped manage things whenever I ensure to watch these things.
