Struggling with SPD and Hearing Sensitivity

anyone else here struggle with spd & hearing stuff too loud? for me, everything is so loud that it’s hard to understand & i have to wear ear defenders in order to hear people. even then, it just sounds like nonsense when ppl talk, but at least i can hear it and it’s not just screaming

Yes I have SPD and a lot of times things do sound too loud to me. It's maddening.

I have apd where if there is more than one noise at once, I can’t focus on the correct noise and I look like I’m just zoning out. It’s kinda funny at times but maybe that’s me coping with the idea that I feel I’m making people impatient. Honestly, best thing I do about loud situations is remove myself from the loud noise

I feel like my body shakes to the roar of an audience talking all at once. It's probably the most crushing feeling I've had and hurts my ears so much.

Yep. I can hear everything down to the refrigerator running, and I can't focus in conversations if there are multiple people talking at once. Any sudden, sharp noises cause me physical pain. I don't understand how neurotypicals can just filter out noise

I find myself asking the waiter 4-5 times at least to repeat basic questions in loud restaurants so I definitely get this.
