In my personal experience, smells are a huge trigger for migraines and everyday headaches. I’ve noticed a difference between actual perfumes vs using body mists. I find that body mists tend to be less of a trigger. Just curious if anyone else experiences this too? I always assumed it had to do with alcohol content and potency of fragrance.

Yes! People, for the longest time, thought I was just being difficult when I told them certain smells either trigger one or make it worse. For me, citrus is the main scent that causes a migraine (everyone knows not to peel oranges next to me). I have to be very picky with products I buy as there are a few other fragrances that cause them for me as well. I'm not sure what could be making the body mist less triggering, maybe cause they're typically a lot less concentrated than regular perfume, but usually, the concentration doesn't matter.

Several individuals have mentioned that certain smells can trigger their migraines. These include the smell of freshly cut grass, perfume, cleaning products, low-humidity, dry nasal cavity, gasoline, wood smoke, cigarettes, weed, burnt cinnamon, certain perfumes, lavender, and laundry soap. However, there is no specific mention of body mists being less of a trigger compared to actual perfumes.
