i know this is an old post, but for anyone who may be reading: i sleep best flat on my back with one leg bent at the knee. depending on the day, sometimes having the leg bent on the painful side is best, sometimes the opposite leg is better. but it really opens up the hips in a way that relieves some of the pain for me.

I'm new to sciatica. I've been reading. Dont sleep on your stomach. Other than that, tirednewt's comment about the body pillow is the most popular answer with sleeping on the side opposite of the pain. Flat on your back is also good, but only if you have a more firm mattress. (I do not).

I have sciatica best way to sleep with that is to get a body pillow and sleep with your knees, one on each side in your arms, one on each side of it

One suggestion for sleeping with sciatica is to lay on your side and place a pillow under your head, another behind your back so you can slightly tilt back onto it, a third pillow between your knees, and a fourth between your arms for you to hold. This position may help alleviate the pain.
