I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine. I still wake up 2-3 times during the night. I don't remember when I had a full night sleep. melatonin doesn't work for me. How can I get into REM sleep

Your issues are more than likely caused by mask leaks waking you up from REM sleep because your lower jaw is dropping. Try using a chinstrap or mouth taping depending if you are using a nasal vs full mask. If using a full face mask use a chinstrap or cervicsl collar. If using a nasal mask use mouth taping, cervical collar, or chin strap. You can also analyze your data with a program called OSCAR, it will show you your leaks and you can probably correlate the awakenings with leaks or possibly legit events.

Melatonin worsened mine and I woke up with a blazing headache and it felt like my eyes would pop out of my head. Good luck.
