Looking for Sleep Alternatives

I am curious about other sleep alternatives because I cannot get my meds nor do I feel comfortable about cannsbis (I have had a couple bad experiences so I tend to stray away from cannabis). I have tried Unisom Sleep Tablets, Melatonin, and others but they never seem to help me sleep through the night and stay asleep...along with staying still. Last few days have been horrible since I've been waking myself up from thrashing around in my bed.

I recommend progressive muscle relaxation meditations or mindfulness meditations to help with relaxation and refocusing (away from pain etc) at bedtime. I thought it was BS or stupid initially, but it can help if done consistently over time. And those types of meditation use you focusing on your physical breathing or physical sensations that ground you or just flexing and releasing muscles. You don't have to try to quiet your mind entirely or focus much or visualize anything, which I found helpful personally . You can find free versions on YouTube. I have some I like specifically ,

You could also try Cannabis CBD. This has many properties of cannabis without the high from the THC which can induce ill effects in some. CBD can be relaxing and mildly sedating to aid with sleep. They make oil tinctures you just put a few drops under your tongue. No need to smoke it or edibles.

I know I was pretty good with my sleep schedule but now it's out of line again because I don't have my prescriptions yet. It's such a problem without my meds to even sleep cause I can't sleep. I've heard good things about CBD. I'm not afraid of trying it out!! I should've specified about being okay with CBD cause I'm okay with it. I just know THC and I are not friends, which is okay with me. I will definitely be checking out that CBD Oil tinctures. :)

If you have medical insurance, I'd highly recommend getting assessed for sleep apnea. You can try Benadryl which is sometimes used off label for sleep. You can also try herbal supplements. There are many herbs that can be helpful to sleep such as valerian root and passionflower. You can also try to improve your sleep hygiene. No screens at least 1 hour before bed. Keep bedroom for sleep and intimacy only (helps brain associate bed to sleep). Find an activity to help you unwind and relax the mind at night such as reading a box, listening to music, doing a meditation, taking a bath, lighting a scented candle or incense.

Same issue here. I won’t lie I love weed but it has such a bad effect on my mental health i stay away from it atp. Sleeping pills either don’t work or knock me tf out for way too long. I’m convinced melatonin is a scam because it doesn’t matter how much i take it doesn’t even make me tried. But i had to start waking up at 6am for work everyday so I literally went home and had my dad wake me up every morning and now that it’s been about a month I can hardly keep my eyes open by 10:30pm anymore

Melatonin literally does not work for me at all. 😂 I have tried different types of sleeping pills with melatonin and they all freaking suck, and sometimes they make me awake more than tired. I literally wish I could just could sleep earlier but my body says f that.
