Hello Bethany, my name is HaDonna I was officially diagnosed in 2014 and shortly after I had a hysterectomy I was 29 at the time. I had my first period when I was 11 years old and shortly after my first period I started getting really bad side pain that was going down my leg. At the time my parents told me that it was normal for us females to have cramps. Let me know my body it didn’t feel normal at the time. I ended up getting pregnant at the age of 16 so therefore my period pain was gone thank the Lord. But I kept getting worse and worse thankfully I had my gynecologist at the time who had listened to me when I told him that this didn’t feel normal so of course I had my first surgery. And at the time I was prone to getting an ovarian cyst. After my second orders I couldn’t take it anymore it seemed like nothing was working at the time. I have tried birth control, Midol ice packs, and heating pad. The only way that pain was gone is when I got pregnant. After my third it continued and continued I ended up having another surgery more of Ovarian cyst. So in 2007 my doctor had told me that I needed to have a hysterectomy so of course he gave me the option to have more kids I ended up getting pregnant after that but had a miscarriage. Seven months later after the miscarriage I was pregnant with my fourth. After that I was due for the hysterectomy but my doctor had put it off so I ended up getting pregnant once again within the same year with my fifth. Yes girl all within the same year lol. After I gave birth to my fifth I ended up having my tubes tied. But a guide extremely worse I couldn’t get out of bed I couldn’t cook for my family. It felt like I was pretty much bedridden. Fast forward 2014 I went in because I was having extreme abdominal pain and my doctor sent me over to get a ultrasound and come to find out I had a 6 cm ovarians cyst and my uterus was a size of a football. On top of that I ended up having fibroids. South course I had to make a decision shortly after I was diagnosed was to have a hysterectomy. Fast forward to today I do still have the endometriosis pain on my right side also going down my leg and my lower back but one thing I can say is sad it is not as bad as it was in the beginning. I had to make a lot of life choices and that is involving what I ate and exercising. As I am typing this I am in pain right now but not as bad. As you can see it took years for me to officially get diagnosed. But one thing I have to say that every female body is different I’m not dismissing that you have endometriosis but you just need to find a gynecologist that is willing to sit down and listen to you. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I had a great doctor for a while but of course she moved to a different state then things went down hill for me. I was hopeful with the doctor I have now but after my last emergency room visit, I just feel defeated. I recently got married and are trying for a little know. I’ve been told, it might be difficult to conceive but not impossible. I think it’s a blessing you have your babies. 💛 I’m sure it makes the pain all worth it seeing them grow. I now live in Kansas.

Hello Bethany! You are so right! You definitely should not be dismissed!! What about finding another specialist? Or asking him honestly if he thinks he could help you? Also If you haven't tried it yet you could try to change your diet to a balanced one that could help with the disease like low estrogenic and anti inflammatory food.
