Anyone else get wiped out after showers? Most people love them. I love being clean but it takes away soooo much energy, I feel exhausted, and it is even more effort to breath. Every. Time.

      Lots of degrees of severity with POTS as well as which dysautonomia is significant.

      We had this until we got engaged and now with another person being home in case we fall or something to help out has given us some independence back! We used to live alone and if the shower triggered our POTS we could be wiped out on the floor of the bathroom for hours

      Many people use a shower chair. Sometimes I sit on the floor when I shower.

      for me it was so exhausting and painful that i resorted to taking baths instead! i add some epsom salt for bad pain days too and it’s definitely better than standing!

      Yes!! I always have to lie back down on the bed, cool off, and rest. Even with a shower chair.

      Definitely a shower chair! I bought 1 last fall, makes a huge difference! I still sit for 20 mins after, just recovering.

      I use a shower stool, but it’s still exhausting. I go to a salon to get a blowout once a wk..mainly for the fact that they’ll wash my hair lol 20 bucks & I’m not in pain after…worth every penny! Lol

      I take a shower and have to take a two hour nap afterwards, and that's on a GOOD day lmao

      Have you tried getting a shower stool? That helped me.

        @kat_hleen I have not. I think I might in the future but I am moving soon so don’t wanna get a big item

      I totally get this. I feel so much like child when i know i need to shower but just dont want to. It took me forever to realize its because the physical act wears me out. It feels nice to be in the water and relax but by the time im out im ready for bed. I only take night showers because of it

        @Lilac_Night same! Except when I mess up my shower schedule like today lol. Ya uses sooooo much of my energy

      Yes so much. Im getting tested for pots and that was one of the big signs for me. I totally recommend a shower chair of some sort

        @Emrys.the.warrior I don’t think I have pots. I don’t think. Because it’s usually just the shower thing
