I had a laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy a little less than a week ago. My doctor said the referred pain in my shoulder is from the carbon dioxide gas they used pushing up on my diaphragm, and that it should only last a few days. It's been almost a week and my shoulder still hurts when I take a deep breath. I will call the doctors' office, of course, but, any tips on how to speed up this pain going away?
