Shortness of Breath with Generalized Anxiety Disorder

I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and I'm constantly short of breath. It feels like I can never get a full satisfying breath and it never goes away. Does anyone else experience this?

Can you help? connect today

It might be a side effect from covid, it's called long covid, I'm sure the doctor can prescribed an inhaler

that's great, and walks are good for the lungs 🫁 have you tried other lung exercises? I know in there is a lung device they use In hospitals for people use for after surgery to strengthen their lungs, that might benefit you. And I have one more question, do you smoke? If so try quit smoking

Hi! I've literally had an identical experience for 15 years. It comes and goes but today is a bad day for me. I find it helps laying quietly on my side and watching TV. Takes my mind off of it. I've had a million tests and nothing is found. Chest x-rays, asthma breathing treatments, etc. Doctors say my lungs are fine. I am convinced it's my generalized anxiety. Do you ever constantly try to clear your throat and/or cough too?

Yes same here I've had mine for 14 years, I'm always clearing my throat or trying to cough to try and see if that will help my breathing but it never does lol. All my test come back normal too and the doc says my lungs are fine.

im not sure if this is the answer for you two but I had the same symptoms and I'd look into somthing with your doctor called vocal cord dysfunction. Its basically a problem with your vocal folds not opening properly which makes you want to cough to fix it or may give a chocking sensation or gasping sensation because you feel you do not have enough air. I'd definitely ask your doctor about it they may be able to send you to the right doctor to check for this.
