Struggling with Socializing on Abilify

I just recently started Abilify again. (In addition to my Lithium.) This time a higher dosage. My moods have been medium (not good but not bad either). But I still don't feel like company, socializing, or seeing family. It makes me wonder if it's me or my loud dysfunctional family?

I'm currently on Abilify. I've realized, and research supports, that Abilify primarily is used to suppress manic symptoms, but doesn't do much in the way of suppressing depressed symptoms. A lot of your reluctance to socialize could just be a continuation of the depressive side of bipolar.

The last time they put me on abilify, I had a manic episode. It takes a lot of work to find out what combo of meds will work.

it can be a combination of both.. and that's not a bad thing by any means. In the mental hospital I had it explained to me by a nice lady.. think of mental health as a cup.. if your cup is full, you can pour some out for others (socialize and all that) if it's empty though you're not gonna have energy to socialize with anyone and that doesn't exclude family.. Hang in there.. you are enough!
