Severe Nausea from Hunger: Autonomic Dysfunction Symptom?

Anyone else get severe nausea from being hungry? This is one of my first symptoms I developed but didn’t realize it was related to my overheating and dizziness and palpitations. But definitely it got progressively worse as my other symptoms progressed. I eat every few hours to prevent nausea. I must eat right before bed AND eat a snack at ab 2-4am to prevent nausea. Then I eat breakfast again at 6-9am depending on the day. Hunger also makes my other symptoms worse, but the nausea is the worst. I don’t hear ppl mention this a lot but I looked into it and it can be a symptom of autonomic dysfunction. I’m diagnosed w POTS/IST

yes I was tested for diabetes negative, I also have excessive thirst bc of my pots which I didn’t know I had so my doctor was concerned ab diabetes. I do have gastric reflux issues so I prob do have gerd too but I only get reflux after eating gluten usually or spicy foods. When I’m hungry it just is rly bad nausea which i guess could be from stomach acid. But it’s a symptom my pots so that’s likely why I have it but I don’t hear many other ppl with it

I have GERD and I get this. I would get nausea if I eat, or not. But I was better with not eating. So 10 years later and I'm not having to force myself to eat more than one meal a day (no snacks either). I have been put onto medication that does help, providing I don't have one of my trigger foods / drinks. I never had mine go away and would have to sleep sitting up as I had no hope in laying down at night. You probably have, but make sure you get second and third opinions regarding this, as it took me 10 years (literally) to get a diagnosis. And no nausea tablets worked.

I would for sure talk to your doctor about it. You are not alone in that tho, if I don't eat all the time, it triggers all my symptoms to spike like crazy. I just had surgery yesterday and I was in so much pain before it because I had to fast😭

my doctors believe it’s a symptom of my autonomic dysfunction, but I feel lonely bc most other pots ppl don’t relate it’s a rarer symptom I guess

I get this. I keep wondering if I have pots. I do have GERD though and take a ppi daily for it. It helps, but doesn't take it away.
