Struggling with Severe Fibromyalgia: How to Balance Work and Pain?

Does anyone have severe fibromyalgia? I was diagnosed in my late 20’s . I’m going to be 32 and this disease is excruciatingly painful to the point that I get exhausted 4 hrs into the day . How do fibromyalgia suffers that work balance their lives with the disease ?

This may sound odd …and it could be. Medicine side effect … has anyone had such bad memory fog that you start to mix up words or your balance is bad, the worst being … you forget where you are going in the most familiar places . I was walking my dog last week… and it’s the same path I always take in the morning… I forgot to where I lived… it took me an hr before swallowing down my embarrassment and pride before I called my boyfriend to come pick me up after giving him the names of the streets signs of the crosswalks. I’ve never had that happen before.

I have it severely. I was already disabled, but I tried to go back to work & couldn’t do it. I can’t said for people to tough me because it makes everything worse. I have to take a high amount of pain meds ; I’m about to get a pain pump. I’ve learned to allow myself to rest on hard days. I’m trying to get medical massage therapy approved. I definitely would just allow yourself time to rest if you can. I always. Work a nap in.

I changed my career course after suffering for too long… also, I told the truth on my job interviews because it was important for me to know that I will get the understanding I needed on certain days 🤷🏼‍♀️
