Severe Fear of Throwing Up: Need Tips for Endoscopy Tomorrow

I have a severe fear of throwing up and I keep on worrying about it and I keep feeling nauseous because of the anxiety, I have to get an endoscopy done tomorrow and I can’t stop panicking and it’s too late to cancel it. I try talking to people about it but they just don’t seem to understand that the procedure isn’t really what I’m afraid of, I’m afraid of what will happen when it’s done, will I throw up when I wake up? Will I be okay once I get out? Will they be able to give me medication for the nausea? What if they can’t do anything? What if I wake up anxious and then throw up because of it? I can’t stop overthinking everything and everyone thinks i’m overreacting. Any tips??

Hey there, I'm sorry I didn't see this till after - how did it go? For reference, when I woke up from mine, I felt better than I did going in because the sedation took my anxiety away too.

i just got an endoscopy and for reference erin i have something making me feel and get sick on a somewhat regular basis and my gag reflex is immensely sensitive and i felt great after the procedure! if they are sedating you they will likely use proprofol and it doesn’t really cause nausea easoecially because you will only be under about 5-10 minutes
