Hi there! New here! Does anyone else here have a severe driving phobia?! Thankfully I can ride in a car, but I haven’t been behind the wheel since 2012. It seems hopeless, any suggestions?

Yes! I was the same way for 9 years. My mom forced me to drive and if she didn't, I still wouldn't be driving. My suggestion is to find someone you trust (partner, child, friend, etc). and on a weekend go to a somewhat large parking lot that isn't very busy and drive away from the cars. Start slow due to the anxiety. Pick 2 light poles or something and set a goal of driving past each light pole twice and do it. If you feel comfortable, do a few more laps. If not, go back again withing a few days ideally and don't again. The more you do it, the more comfortable you will be. Push yourself a little bit. If it takes you 3 times to do the 2 poles, force yourself to do 3nthe next time. You have to push yourself a little out of your comfort zone, or you'll never.get over the phobia. 🤗🙏💕
