I have a service dog! I owner trained my dog, so the cost wasn’t terrible. We also went through a trainer for basics and stuff so I guess there was a little money spent training. I also knew what kind of dog I wanted and he was a little on the expensive side but he’s literally made for his job! The process varies depending on which route you go
