Newly Diagnosed with Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hi there! How did you get your diagnosis? I only have some of the blood markers for RA but most of the symptoms. Severe symptoms, too. It got so bad I had couldn’t walk across the room and had to buy a cane and a wheelchair. My rheumatologist won’t give me anything stronger than Plaquenil because they say I don’t have RA, even though my ESR and anti-CCP are high. I just don’t have the rheumatoid factor. Isn’t that seronegative RA?? I just want a diagnosis so that I can get the help and medications I need. I’m getting so exhausted. Any tips?

hi! i am in the process of getting diagnosed while in the midst of a pretty severe flare up. i believe if i were to get diagnosed with RA i would be seronegatove as well. i am looking for more friends to talk this over with.

I also have seronegative! I’m on plaquanil and rituxan and it has helped dramatically.

Hey! I'm seronegative as well. Diagnosed at 19, about 6 years ago. I think I was told "seronegative juvenile idiopathic rheumatoid arthritis". Something like that. Point is, it's RA and it sucks, but meds definitely help! 🤗
