TW SH please don’t read if you get triggered by sh. Im going to be very up front and say I accidentally c*t too deep in my hip crease. I say deep but it’s not entirely deep rather than wide. I didn’t even mean for it to be bad. But Im having trouble keeping the skin together, it’s not very big but the skin is still not staying together to heal. What’s something I can do to keep it together?

If you have gauze, put maybe a couple layers so that there is some pressure. Then tape over it or use a large bandaid. If the blood soaks through the gauze, just add gauze over that gauze so that that the clotting doesn’t have to start over in that spot. You can clean up the bloody gauze later, now you want to stop any bleeding and help it heal back together. If you don’t have gauze, it would be better to use bandaids or something that won’t fall apart like paper towels or napkins. You don’t want that stuff to stay in the cut. You’ll want to make sure to clean it once you are sure it isn’t bleeding too bad, then keep it covered until it is healed. Some bandaids that I like are the Nexcare clear waterproof bandaids, they have ones called “knee and elbow” that could be big enough. These bandaids have worked pretty well for me in water and for not falling off, so they’re good ones if you can find them. I’ve gotten them from Target. Sorry this is so long, I’m a nursing student. And I’m not trying to encourage SH but it seems good to have information on how to care for yourself if you need. I really hope you are doing okay<333

Butterfly bandaids or steri strips. But if you can’t get the bleeding to stop, you need to seek medical attention.. you’ll need stitches if that’s the case. Sometime they use skin glue as well. Please please get help if you need it! I know it can be scary trust me I do, but your life is so precious and we all care about you. Please message me if you need to talk.

Hey, I can relate because that's where I used to do it the most (because pretty much no one can see them there) I've done this myself and just put neosporin on it with gauze and tried to keep the wound taped together the best I could. It healed fine.

Hey! I would try to not move as much, and try to keep it as clean as possible. I know that this is hard, but I believe in you! Please feel free to DM me if you need to talk to anyone.

Since it's on your hip try not to move around so much and maybe have something to try and keep it together even if you don't then it'll still be fine but there's gonna be a wider scar at least in my experience
