I like to compare myself to others and engage in a sort of military discipline. If not create an aid to remind and be checked off all of the to-dos during the day preparation hour,`s
I force myself to relax at least one day a week. Usually start by taking a longer shower than normal, doing some skincare, wearing a sheet mask, then make myself a healthy snack and bundle up on the couch and indulge in my favorite show or Minecraft videos on YouTube. (✿^‿^)
Consistent skincare 💁🏻♀️ other routines I never skip that keep me feeling my best: making my blue matcha every morning (reduces stress, cortisol levels, and inflammation), taking my vitamins/supplements & Rxs 👌 singing in the shower 🙋🏻♀️ writing in my planner before bed every night, using my scalp roller w/ oils/serums for my alopecia areata
it's a blend called Blue Me Away from Apothekary. It has blue matcha (which doesn't have caffeine) & pea protein & I can't remember the other few ingredients off the top of my head haha but I add almond milk & a splash of vanilla non-dairy creamer & it tastes like cookie dough 😋 so yummy + it can help reduce stress levels (cortisol) & reduces inflammation! If you try it, I hope you like it!
I pick one day when I really need it. Then I make my favorite foods the night before. I cuddle up all day with my service dog and a really good book. I have my favorite foods to snack on. I watch my favorite TV shows. I just lie around enjoying doing nothing productive.
A warm bath, a good book, and a cup of tea. Every Saturday morning. It's my time to unwind and decompress. I shave and exfoliate then too, so I come out feeling refreshed inside and out.
Jacuzzi with tons of epsom salts. Aromatherapy using my diffuser & EO’s. Massage with coconut oil & EO’s targeted for pain relief. Wrap up in my heated blanket & watch a movie. 🙏
A big part of my self care involves food. I make sure I always have a couple of my favorite comfort foods/drinks for when I need them, and I try to eat gluten free as much as I can so I don't feel sick. Meal planning/prep also helps me a lot. I can put in more effort to make a nice meal that follows my diet on a day I'm feeling good, so then I have leftovers in the fridge or freezer for my less-good days
Writing in my journal, acknowledging my feelings and allowing myself to feel those emotions. The gym is also great self care not only physically but mentally too! Lastly, meditation, cooking and praying are all good ways of feeling more calmer I have discovered too :)) x
Taking a moment 2 just breathe, I usually sit outside just by myself, listen 2 music and I might try meditation soon, see if there's any added benefits
I usually take hot baths with some candles or if that seems like too much effort I just take a hot shower. Skincare, sometimes I put makeup on for the fun of it, going for a drive and just listening to music, I live doing crafts and being creative, or I will just let myself cry if I need it. I am still learning self care and finding what works for me!
as long as you are able to engage with other self care tips you are doing just fine. Few things boost my sense of value more. Once you can understand the psychology of it you can really make it work for you.
if i physically can i will try and go sit outside for a little while and connect myself with the earth ! if not ill put a movie or music on and just lay in bed and relax
Shaths (laying in the bath with the shower running on you) while listening to music, podcasts or a movie without the lights on and just relaxing. Bath bombs, candles, any form of aromatherapy up in that bad boy is amazing.
Romantasizing! Dressing up in something comfortable and romantasizing it as high-end fashion. Sitting around, playing some chill music, tea in my favorite mug, and imagining I'm in a magazine or slice-of-life anime.
This works for many locations, any kind of weather, and any kind of activity! Just the other day, I was preparing to study for final exams in a nearby Starbucks, and it began raining outside. I seized the opportunity to get into the study aesthetic; I ordered a coffee (even tho I don't usually drink coffee), sat near the window, and wore a cozy sweater. I immediately felt like I was in a lo-fi beats study YouTube stream or a Tumblr mood board, and I ended up being super productive that day.
I force myself to work for as long as I can focus on said thing I forced myself to work on. I never get anything done this way, I usually end up watching YouTube, so, it does technically count, right?
having a nice meal, like any comfort food…while either listening to music or watching a comfort show/movie. taking a bath with candles nearby, or just a longer shower. playing any video game after, or just listening to music and resting/going to bed.
