What should the first steps be to helping me accommodate myself? I am in the process of getting the medical help I need and have neglected for the longest time due to not realizing the severity of my issues.

Some simple things for POTS you can do on your own is wearing compression socks and drinking toooons of water with electrolytes throughout the day :)

Don’t judge yourself, and allow yourself to feel all of the feelings that come up! Fighting feelings while accompanying yourself is hard! Don’t compare yourself to other people. Trust yourself and your knowledge of your body, don’t let doctors walk over you! My DMs are open

@Loocifer thank you! This is something I definitely will hold on to

It's really hard to answer that. It depends on what symptoms bother you that most, because everyone will be a little different. But I'd say the most important thing would be taking care of any issues that could make it safer for you, and help you deal emotionally with your conditions. None of them will go away, and this can be difficult to accept that they're part of your life from now on.

@AnaBelle96 yeah… that is what is weighing on me currently. It’s hard to accept that (specific symptoms dealt with are chronic joint pain, constant overstimulation due to jobs but cannot leave them yet due to financial stress, trying to navigate life as an adult but also take care of myself, driving, constant lightheadedness/ pre syncope, anxiety and depression from being burnt out and so on) are just not really going to get better…. I mean some will but some won’t so it’s quite a big thing to think about

Based on the replies to similar situations, some first steps could include reaching out for help and not trying to maintain a facade of normalcy. It's also important to learn to say "no" when necessary and prioritize self-care. Physical activity and mindfulness were also suggested as coping mechanisms. Additionally, finding ways to do things that may be different from how others do them but work for you can be helpful.
