Seeking Advice on Prozac for OCD and Anxiety

I suffer from ocd and anxiety and so it puts me down of course … my doctor recommended Prozac but I’m scared if there will be any side affects. Also, how many milligrams will do it for me? I only weigh about 110 and I’m 24 years old… I also suffer from chronic migraines and I’m also scared to take it because I heard it can cause bad headaches … anyone ???

You'll find the dose that works best for you. They'll start you at 20mg and increase it until you experience the necessary relief, maybe around 40 or 60mg. Prozac doesn't give me any headaches, but it can cause extra heat and sweating, hypertension, heart palpitations, and tachycardia, but those last three only tend to be exacerbated in those already dealing with those conditions.

i got on lexapro just a few years ago (when i was 19, i’m 22 now) and i remember having so much anxiety about starting anxiety meds and the side effects they would give me. i actually let the prescription just sit on my shelf for weeks until i felt ready to start, and purposely waited until i knew i’d have a lull in social activities to where if i had a reaction to it i wouldn’t miss out on too much life. going on it was the best decision and i had nothing but incredibly minor side effects that only lasted about a week or two (i was basically a little sleepy and i’d feel nauseous when yawning). i know that the journey is scary, and i’m facing my own anxiety now about starting up preventative migraine meds, but finding something that worked for me was so freeing and joyful! i hope this helps a little?
