Seeking Advice on Migraine Prevention

I’ve had no luck with with actual migraine prevention. The most that has happened was maybe having a migraine 2x per week instead of 3x. Any suggestions?

my amatryptiline dose was tripled to 30mg and a month ago I added magnesium gummies and Coq10 gummies. All the other meds are as needed when I get the migraine. There’s also like no pattern at all. I can eat and drink water and still get a migraine.

I definitely notice my neck hurts before a migraine. I’m thinking I need more treatment for that possibly. I did physical therapy but just wasn’t sustainable for me

Try an ice pack it is one of the first things I do when I feel one coming on. Light stretching after a hot shower helps to relax the muscles. I have tried injection and different meds and this has helped me out better.

I notice neck pain often when I’m working and with clients so I wouldn’t be able to keep an ice pack while sitting up. But will try this at home. Have you ever tried one of those electrical stimulation machines?

Really establish a sleep schedule for yourself if you haven't already. If you're light/sound sensitive like I am, I reccomend a reusable Gel Eye Mask (it looks like a sleep mask but has gel inside that you can keep in the freezer). Make sure you're in a dark, fairly quiet area and stay hydrated. Water will be your best friend, trust me. Be sure to track what you eat and find any patterns in foods to see if any may be a trigger. Stock up on Peppermint oil and massage your temples with it. Be sure to take anti-inflamatory medicine for your neck too !

I sleep really nicely at least. I will try peppermint oil since I have that. In terms of a med for neck pain, would you just say Tylenol? Or should something be prescribed
