Feeling Guilty About Passing on My Condition to My Kids

does anyone ever feel guilty about passing on their chronic condition (bi-polar for me) genetically to their kids? I do sometimes.

It’s genetic but triggered by environmental and situations. My son was perfectly fine until his girlfriend broke up with him at 17. She was cruel and told him to kill himself. Then he got depressed and wanted to die for about 6 months. I still feel guilty. My ex is a sociopath so it’s not a good dna mix. I was physically injured and had to send him to live with his dad after 17 years raised him myself, he never saw him even though I’d beg him. Ive been horribly depressed ever since

No kids here, but I also fret that I’ll pass on my bipolar and that it will be too much for my s/o to handle.

I worry because after I was diagnosed my kids dad was diagnosed with bipolar too. So I’m vet concerned about it. Neither of our families had a history of it and we both got it.

I'm still so happy to have her in my life and couldn't imagine the world without her. If she weren't my kid she'd be my best friend.

I knew when I was pregnant that there was a good chance she would have mental health issues. I have bi polar and he wasn't diagnosed, but her dad used to cut himself when he got depressed. She started having issues in preschool.
