Does anyone here get really restless after being depressed for awhile? it's been about 2 weeks for me (give or take some) and today I feel so restless. I also have anxiety, so I'm not sure if that's part ofit?

@0_Shinigami_0 One way I've reacted to the feeling is obsessively cleaning and organizing for hours in the middle of the night

Yes, although I have ADHD and anxiety. After too long I get jittery and wanna do something random

Yes. I used to relieve this feeling by binge drinking, going on benders, being reckless. After 7 years of coping by self medicating with alcohol. In 2020 I started self medicating by consuming dab form of cannabis daily every 30 minutes. This combined with the reality of the pandemic, unaddressed trauma, and lack of nutrition and different hygiene practices and MORE led to my first psychotic break. Now it is 2022, I have committed to myself in regards to chasing wellness over purpose. I still consume cannabis in different forms daily. I have a new found respect for myself, and respect for the gift of cannabis and not abusing it.

@Ooblia that's great! I'm really happy to hear that you've found a way to cope with all of that! Do you have any other coping mechanisms aside from cannabis? I don't have access to that due to my age and where I live, along with medications I take.

@Mika15 I have many coping mechanisms. I am ASD and found that experimenting with different tangible items such as, scalp massagers, Thai inhalants of natural herbs, menthol based shampoos, heated blanket, cold fan, stretching, nutrition, acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, EDMR therapy. None of this is in a specific order but I’ve been on a healing journey across that has taken place over the past 11 years. I am not looking for the silver bullet of answers to my struggles, instead I look for OPTIONS to try for a bit, different coping tools and mechanisms to rewire my brain. I have kept a journal to create a timeline of my own overall health journey.
