tense your leg muscles. trick your brain into thinking you're going for a run (or actually go for a run, though I wouldn't recommend that at night). I used to pace around my kitchen table until I fell asleep, and that's how my mom would find me: eyes closed, dead asleep, walking in circles
I take a Potassium supplement, I also elevating my legs. Helps somewhat.
i get them when im fighting my sleep. If i go to sleep it goes away
