Rescued a Terrified Puppy from Abusive Home

Hey guys! It's me again, everyone! How are you all doing? Me? I'm doing pretty good! A ton better then I have been! I've finally gotten my girlfriend and self into a new place! My girlfriend and I took in a Chihuahua Dachshund mix puppy from a from a friend. Basically a chiweenie. He's only 6 months old and he's pretty small. At first we thought we were just taking in a dog from a friend that was moving out of town. Or something like that. We weren't sure what the whole story was at first. Then our friend told us another story. Lie number 2. That she wasn't moving, that she was having to get rehome the dog because of the landlord. The puppy the 6-month-old puppy had growled at the landlord. The landlord got upset and said he had to go. So when said friend showed up on my doorstep battered and bruised we were shocked! The puppy was shaking in her arm! We took the dog in willingly at that point! Our friend told us the truth, that she was being beaten by her boyfriend. She had been dating the sicko for 2 years! She was going to a women's shelter and couldn't take him with her. She stated the puppy was being abused by her boyfriend too. All the way from being screamed at to kicked too! So when we took the dog in he was terrified of everything and everyone. He's terrified of water, squeaky toys, chews, and leashes! He growled at people and he snapped. He nipped several times but had tears running down his face. BUT he's gotten drastically better since we've been loving on him. He now is an attention hog! He gives the best kisses and adores everyone after he gets to know them. It just takes a bit. We are taking him out on walks and to the park to get him used to leashes and people. He hasn't nipped once since we have gotten him. He just growls at new people. It seems that he was only nipping at people out of fear. I had to give him a flea bath and I had to give him prevention to keep fleas off of him. But now he's been doing great! He's a super sweet dog! I wish I could put a picture up on here of him! But unfortunately they don't allow pictures for some reason? So his name is Tohma, he's a 6 month old chiweenie and he is the sweetest little boy in the world!

That I so terribly sad for the both if them. How can someone be so cruel. We have taken in abused dogs ourselves. One was so afraid of the broom and newspaper we had to make s game out of it and tell hi mto grt it and nip at so he would know it eoukd not hit him and he had power of them nit the other way around.... before if you picked up either the poor thing wpuld run into room crying and hide with his ears down and talk tucked shaking. I am so happy he is getting love and is away from thst. And your friend too.... that is just horrible

As u work with him he will get better. He will growl at new people only because he is trying to be proactive

He's scared and new people are the issue. That's why we are trying to socialize this poor baby as much as possible!
