Should I Reschedule My Medical Procedures Due to POTS Flare?

I have some medical procedures coming up but am in the worst POTS flare I’ve ever had. I’m trying to decide if I should reschedule them for later or go ahead. I’ve talked to my doctors but they haven’t been much on the subject. The procedures I need are spinal injections, nerve ablation, colonoscopy/endoscopy, and endometrial laparoscopy (definitely putting this one off until I’m up for it since the recovery sounds rough). I feel so shaky all the time and don’t want to overwhelm my body but I’m in a lot of chronic pain and need to try to get help for that as well to function. Does anyone have experience or knowledge to share?

Hi! So I also have POTS and have had most of those procedures! All except the nerve ablation, which I put off because of my POTS. Honestly as tough as it is, get the procedures. Pain is a trigger for me, so even though the procedures may briefly worsen the POTS, to me it’s better than the pain. The only one is hold off on is the spinal injections. They HURT and made me pass out from pain. If you have any questions about anything message me!

thanks for the reply!! That’s really helpful! I’ve noticed in the past I feel worse after spinal injections but I have to get them now for insurance to cover the ablation otherwise I’d avoid them. Honestly my doctor looks at me like I’m crazy when I tell him I feel horrible after injections but your story helps me feel less gaslighted that I’m not the only one.
