Relentless Itchiness All Over My Body - Need Help!

I'm not sure if these are eczema symptoms or not, but I cant see the itchy patches anymore, they're not red or risen. I'm just horribly and relentlessly itchy all over and I have no clue what it is. it feels like dry skin, but kind of deeper, just like eczema i guess. It doesn't seem like an allergic reaction either, I don't think I'm allergic to anything and I never use scented soaps or anything irritating. there's not a single lotion or itch cream that I can find helps. sometimes it works once and then never again, like the itch adapts to it. it's not really constant but it flares up after I shower and it makes it so I never feel clean. I keep my showers short and always use lotion afterwards. I've tried many brands. I think it also flares up with stress sometimes. It's just all over my body, particularly in places where I've had bad eczema patches in the past. this has been going on for a few months now...there's a fee faint patches but it's mostly invisible. Seems to be getting worse.

mm. My eczema only really tends to flare up when I’m near one of my allergens (dogs, cats, or sugar) . maybe think about food sensitivity testing ? Also: if you have access to a dermatologist, sometimes they can prescribe a topical steroid (usually triamcinolone acetonide) that seriously reduces symptoms.

Also if moisturizing and changing the temperature doesn’t help, please go see a doctor. It might be something other than eczema that is affecting your skin. Good luck 👍

That definitely sounds like your skin needs moisture. As everyone else above me has said, taking hot showers for a long time can trigger eczema symptoms because it dries your skin out. You should definitely try changing the water temperature and the time you spend inside the shower, and wear moisturizer right after you get out of your shower. Basically, just dry off and then moisturize. It’s much better than not wearing anything and it definitely helps.

That's exactly how my eczema is. The only thing that helps is really strong steroids to suppress my immune system and kill the itch from the inside

Yeah hot water has always been bad so I try and keep it short and keep the water as cool as I can. Hydrocortisone usually helps.. but I guess it's just weird that my symptoms have been so different the past couple months from how it's been my whole life.

Water and soap in general makes my skin really dry and itchy. I try to limit myself on how frequently I shower and keep the temperature on the coolest I can tolerate
