Reducing Menstrual Cycle with Birth Control: Experiences?

Hi y'all, has anyone tried the birth control Depo Injection or any birth control to reduce their menstrual cycle? What were your results? Hoping to see if this would help as my cycle is one of my biggest histamine triggers!!

I started mine in like 2006 for really bad endometriosis and I had to also had six months of chemically induced menopause. I’ve been using depo ever sense. I came off for a while and had my second child in 2014 and have since gone back on depo. I never ever have periods and my endo pain only occurs rarely and usually when I’m a couple days away from getting a new shot. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories but if you want to see how your body might handle it, ask your doctor about the progestin only tabs for one month before taking depo. Some people have felt more comfortable taking a pill they can stop immediately before trying a shot you can’t get out. If you do well with that then go for depo. It’s definitely been a god send for me but always listen to your own instincts first and foremost. 💕

i’ve found it super helpful since without it i was having a horrible period that was heavy & painful. now that i’m on it, my period is either completely gone or it’s just random spotting that is so light it doesn’t stain my underwear. the spotting only ever happens if my body is under a lot of stress, though! i hope this helps!
