Recurrent BV with HPV Diagnosis - Feeling Alone and Lost

Hi all, I'm CJ. I've been searching for others like me who have been diagnosed with a viral infection (HPV) and experience symptoms such as recurrent bacterial vaginosis (BV). I am currently taking folic acid to help clear up the virus, but every pap smear continues to reveal abnormal cells, which results in undergoing a colposcopy every 6 months. I was also diagnosed with Trichomoniasis twice in my lifetime and I feel that since having it, my vagina has never been the same. Every time I have sex, I experience BV. So awkward and embarrassing and it makes me feel so alone and lost. I do all of what my doctors and OBGYN suggest (wearing cotton underwear, using condoms, wearing no underwear at night, decreasing sugar intake), and it seems no matter what I do, the frequent BV is persistent. Using antibiotics (Metronidazole) frequently to treat the BV can't be good for the body, so I am really over going to the OBGYN every time I have sex to get treated for BV and explaining to my OBGYN that I'm doing all of what she has been suggesting. I even tried supplements (Bonafide) to help decrease frequent BV, and nope - didn't help. Does anyone else experience this??

Hello CeeJay , I have HPV also and I found Papillex and ACHH are great for us & will help us fight off the virus. I’ve been taking them since Feb 12 , so far so good. Also they can be found on Amazon

Certain birth controls, antibiotics and smoking can cause it as well as a high sugar consumption. BV is when there's an imbalance in the vaginal bacteria so not necessarily only from sex but that could be the icing on the cake. Certain birth controls can cause it as well as anything scented or in too long like tampons pads (I wear pads). My gynecologist said the vagina is very sensitive and you should wash it with what you wash your face with not the rest of your body.

I experience it a bit but I don't have sex a lot and haven't for like over 6 months I don't know if you have the same partner or not but that helps. I like cranberry juice and I drink a ton of it which probably helps as well as take probiotics. I went in every 6 months but my new OB said once a year is fine which honestly gives me anxiety.
