I've always considered my ADD like looking through a kaleidoscope have you ever looked through a kaleidoscope and seeing all the other changing designs and movements it's about the only way I can explain my attention deficit

my family kinda suspected it for a while but it wasnt in my bloodline so we didnt take it to a doctor until a few years later when one of my parents got diagnosed and then it was just like an “ohhh” moment

I tried to kill myself once because I was so stressed, for not paying attention and not learning and because that way I didn't pass my tests and I was failing, so my mom got scared and took me to see a psychiatrist, they told me all my symptoms and gave me my diagnosis 😥

An acquaintance of mine shared on Facebook her experience with being diagnosed as an adult and it was like reading my autobiography. I always thought I couldn't have ADHD bc I wasn't hyper and did well in school, I used to be very uneducated/unaware

I found out when there was a moment where I was listening to something I was looking at nothin I had nothing in my mind but I didn't comprehend any thing I was listening to. I had to listen to it 3 or for times to really listen and understand.

When it took 8 times for someone to spell their name to me....Working in a gym at the m front desk, I was so distracted by all the people, music, excitement around me, and I couldn't get anything done. Would take me 2 hours to send the easiest 2 min email sometimes because I was so easily distracted.

Well, my family always knew. But the day I found out, I was shocked. I don’t know why, but I was upset, and crying, cause no one ever told me. That there’s a name for what I’ve gone through my whole life. That I’m not alone, and I’m not a freak. I found out through a series of YouTube spirals, and I’ve finally gotten a ‘proper’ diagnosis earlier this year.
