Navigating Racial Identity in Different Settings

I can relate to this experience somewhat, as someone who identifies as Vietnamese-American. It sucks when someone who barely knows me invalidates my Vietnamese identity, calling me "whitewashed," when much of my life is interpersonally and systematically impacted by my appearance and grandparents' refugee experiences. At the same time, I want ppl to recognize that I'm extremely different from someone who grew up in Vietnam. I don't have any super helpful advice besides surrounding urself with the right ppl who know who u are. I hope it comforts u tho to know that u are not alone! 💕
