Understanding the Difference Between Quiet and Loud BPD

What is the difference between quiet bpd and, I guess, loud bpd? I wouldn't say my bpd is quiet at all, quite the opposite, but I'd like to see if anyone can tell me the difference. also, if you experience quiet bpd, what is that like?

Can you help? Connect today

hey, idk if this is what u were asking (i dont have quiet bpd myself) but Im pretty sure the difference is one is like.. quiet bpd is inward. like they dont look/act like they have bpd? thats how ive heard it described at least. so "loud" bpd would be like, bpd but you very much behave like it

ahhh, idk then. I am, I guess you could say, very high functioning. But I do kind of present an air of mental illness lmao

I don't have quiet BPD, but I looked it up and found this: "Whereas the typical presentation of BPD involves angry outbursts and obvious and outward self destructiveness, those with quiet BPD have internalized emotional episodes2 (they turn their anger inward). For this reason, quiet BPD tends to go undiagnosed or is misdiagnosed."

There are four sub-types of bpd. Quiet bpd is known to internalize everything. We implode vs always exploding. Everything is directed inward! But there are three other types.

I have quiet bpd but I used to have self-destructive bpd. basically I just internalize all of my emotions and self-blame a loooot. even though it appears that I’m “high functioning”, oftentimes I’m going crazy in my head
