Questioning my Schizophrenia Diagnosis

I was diagnosed last year with schizophrenia and I’ve seen a lot of people talk about their experiences, like hearing voices all the time and stuff, mine isn’t as severe, like yeah I hear voices but not all the time, and it makes me question if I even have it in the first place, like what if I’m just fooling everyone including myself

One time my therapist told me it’s them (the voices) that try to tell you you’re crazy and that it’s all fake and in your head. They don’t want you to talk about it. But keep trying hun

I often feel bad because I see other people have worse symptoms but then I think like I wouldn’t want to fool anyone.. I experience what I experience and it still isn’t normal to hear anything at all. Also, when you’re medicated right the symptoms will go down at that’s good. There’s no “sick enough” versus “not sick enough”. A doctor diagnosed me. You still have the symptoms and you can’t turn them on or off at will.
