How to Push Through Mental Overwhelm

I go through periods where I am so motivated and then other times I can't hardly get off the couch. When you get mentally overwhelmed how do you push through?

I don't push through. But I'm retired. When I was employed sometimes it was all I could do to get to work and finish the day. I'd eat something and go to bed. When the alarm went off it was just a routine until I got home. Now I can soak up all the down side of being hyper focused and productive. Now I can give into staying in bed for as long as I want to. It doesn't take much for my ADHD brain to go 'Ooo! Project!! And I'm off again. It's not glamorous giving into the down side. I wouldn't call it depression (even though my drs have) I think off it as recharging my batteries. Sometimes I rapid recharge (less than a day) sometimes I need three days (if it starts going into the fourth day though I make some kind of effort to go look at my craft room. I HATE being depressed)

Sometimes for me I have to realize how lucky I truly am. It doesn’t always work. Then there are the pep talks I give myself. I just try to do one thing at a time and not think about the other stuff that I need to do until I’m done with that one thing. I make lists. I have good and bad days. Wish I had the magic answer.
