Dealing with the uncertainties of pursuing a diagnosis

how to deal with uncertainties of pursuing a diagnosis, especially when it is costly? even with my insurance, psych testing is expensive. I can afford it and I probably should do it but I'm afraid they won't be thorough and won't diagnose me correctly. what were y'all's experiences like? long wait-list? were they good and thorough? how did the whole process of searching, making an appointment, and getting tested make you feel?

Honestly I dont trust professionals any more to give me a clear answer. If you really think you have something and youve done your research, id just go ahead and say u have it. I’ve been screened 4 times for autism and almost all of the results were conflicting and 2 of the tests weren’t done correctly. It’d be good to be seen definitely but if you really can’t afford it rn theres no shame in just assuming you have something
