Hi everyone, just a quick question i was curious about the hand and feet looking or turning purple, i notice that when in in the shower or in warmer weather my feet turn a reddish purple and if im shaky or having a anxiety or panic attack my veins seem to pop out more in my legs and somewhat in my arms. Is this common with anyone else, i want to try and get more info on pots and its symptoms.

This is called Raynaud’s syndrome and people with POTS (including me) often have it. It’s totally harmless so I wouldn’t worry too much about it if I were you :)

My veins don’t ever seem to change but blood pooling is super common with POTS. When I take a shower it’s the worst but hot weather overall seems to make POTS symptoms worse.
Thanks for the info!
I totally do this! I believe this is due to blood pooling. Especially when warm the blood vessels open up rather than constrict (with POTS the blood vessels already don’t constrict very well) so the blood then pools in those areas away from your head. I have to wear compression socks daily to help with this although obviously you can’t wear them in the shower which is a bummer.
