Pure OCD: How Common Is It?

when I was younger I did, I now find that my ocd has gotten better

I have both mental and physical compulsions , but we don’t really get taught about the mental ones do we? They are BOTH awful and BOTH valid. I actually have some that have to do with the way I breathe… which can send me into an anxiety attack because my brain isn’t getting what it needs and I feel like I can’t breath and it just snowballs. Bless us all for being strong enough to deal with this!

I thought I was faking, and still think that sometimes, because not all my compulsions are physical.

Yeah mental compulsions are horrible. I have them so bad. It's hard to stop yourself.

me. I never knew this was a thing until I experienced it myself. truly a nightmare. I always believed you had to do psychical rituals for it to be considered OCD. but that's not true. I do the rituals inside my brain, and it haunts me daily and irs never enough.

Yes I have pure ocd , just means you have ocd about legit anything

Not sure exactly what you mean by pure… but I suffer from severe OCD, if that’s helpful!
