PTSD or Autism? How to Tell the Difference

I have many symptoms that seem to be under the umbrella of both PTSD and autism, I'm wondering how I can tell the difference or if I should go ahead and get an evaluation. I've been in therapy for flashbacks and done Emdr therapy that has minimized flashbacks and triggers but I still have extreme social anxiety, adhd, and sensory sensitivities.

I'm in the same boat! I spoke to a mental health nurse today who said the treatments the same for most of the conditions with regard to therapy and figuring out my triggers would be helpful. Have you found a diagnosis since posting? I hope you're doing okay.

I would get evaluated if that's an option! There are some criteria they look for that's stereotypical rather than actually evidenced based tho, just as a warning. Being told you aren't autistic doesn't ALWAYS mean you aren't autistic but if evaluation results would help ease your mind about it one way or the other I say go for it!
