The Paradox of PTSD: Numbness to Trauma, Meltdown Over Small Losses

The crazy thing about PTSD I've noticed in myself is I can go through traumatic things and be almost numb to it but small things like losing my favorite things I have a meltdown does that happen to anyone else

Yes, I almost had a meltdown over stepping on something sharp and dropping something today whereas when I was going thru trauma, I dissociated and it didn't feel real to me then.

That's exactly what happens to me I dissociate alot when I don't want to deal with strong emotions like grief and sadness

I relate to this, at this point when something that that should be traumatic happens I have little to no reaction or response to it, however if I lose something that I love and care about like my teddy bear that my aunt gave me as a child, I will seriously lose my crap.
